Spired and domed skyline,
Amber shops and marzipan,
Cobblestones and Skype

What a contrast from Berlin’s bustle and breadth! Tallinn’s Old Town is charming, hushed, and Jewel-like. It’s bursting with museums, churches and the aforementioned amber (and other craft) shops, yet easily walkable in less than two hours. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is straight from fairy tale central casting, and many streets seem unchanged from medieval times (but for the occasional Audi or VW). Hard to believe that Skype hails from less than a mile away.
